Proof that your protective clothing meets the required standards.
Each Declaration of Conformity confirms in writing that a product complies with the applicable European safety standard and has been assessed accordingly. Find the appropriate PDF for your article, organised by standard and protection class.
What a Declaration of Conformity actually confirms
Before a garment from Korntex reaches you, it has undergone assessment according to the applicable European standard. The Declaration of Conformity is the official document confirming this. It specifies which standard applies, which protection class has been achieved and confirms conformity with the relevant requirements.
For purchasers and safety managers, this is more than administrative paperwork. It provides important documentation for your own compliance requirements, audits and the safety of the people wearing the clothing. That is why we make the documents readily available for the relevant articles here.
Two standards explained briefly
EN ISO 20471 specifies requirements for high-visibility clothing used in road traffic and on construction sites. It defines the amount of fluorescent and retroreflective material required to make the wearer clearly visible in daylight and in vehicle headlights. Class 3 provides the highest level of visible material, while Class 1 provides the lowest.
EN 17353 applies to enhanced visibility equipment for situations where medium-risk visibility is required. It defines different protection types using basic fluorescent material, retroreflective material or a combination of both.
